Glasgow is a beautiful city home to all shapes and sizes, but it's not every day you run into a superhuman creature with chameleon abilities.
If you're wandering around Buchanan Street today, you might see the brutal Predator lurking around comic shop Forbidden Planet.
Its arrival marks a very special date in the Glasgow geeky calendar.
Returning for its fifth year, Glasgow Comic Con marks the beginning of a geek-filled week alongside a crack team of cosplayers roaming the city.
Characters from fantasy favourites including Predator, Daft Punk, Judge Dredd and Wonder Woman will all appear to Buchanan Street today to celebrate the festival commencing on June 30.
Passers by can have their pictures taken along with the characters and a select lucky few might even walk away with tickets to the Glasgow Comic Con itself.
You can also expect some t-shirt giveaways and plenty of information on the myriad of events happening next week.
The festival sees a plethora of activities from talks, panels, signings, retailers, cosplay and a weekend packed with internationally acclaimed artists.
Guests include Mark Millar, Cameron Stewart, David Lloyd, John Higgins, Sean Phillips alongside industry legends John Wagner and Alan Grant.
Festival director Sha Nazir said: "It’s great to see the event flourish from our humble beginnings of a one day, 500 attendees convention to over 5000 participants across a city-wide festival.
"Glasgow Comic Con is home to comics, graphic novels, comic art and writing and is a fantastic platform for the 100 plus creators who will visit our city and opens its pages to the world."
